Lainy was born in Sydney Australia, but has grown up in Texas. Growing up a tennis player in Plano, she moved on to live at John Newcombe Tennis Academy for her high school years. She then earned a full athletic scholarship to Texas State University. As a student, she served as captain of her tennis team, as well as playing at the top of the line up all four years. Peterson now coaches and serves as the director at the MAC360 Tennis Academy here in Austin. She loves to compete in all types of races and outdoor activities!
