Kristi was born in the Chicago-land area and moved to Texas before starting high school, where she began her tennis career. She played varsity tennis and earned a scholarship to play for Sam Houston State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. Kristi enjoyed years teaching as a tennis professional and continues playing tennis recreationally. She also competed in many triathlons, adventure races, 5K, 10K & half-marathon races.
